Photos Of Your Day
I like to share photos of my area of the world here, and of some of the stuff we do, and I know others of you do as well.I know I LOVE to see other people's photos of their area, their family, etc. But often I feel like I am filling up the random picture thread with too many photos of once place or activity. And since often these types of 'reports' (like Russ's (manitou) that he just posted) aren't really large trip reports, I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread where we can all post our photo-reports, like of day trips, hikes, kids parties, outings, holidays, celebrations, etc.
Shall I start? Today was a beautiful day here, and I took the kids downtown to Stanley Park. We walked around a bit, and admired the trees that have yet to grow their new leaves: ![]() We noticed this tall guy on one of the paths: ![]() The kids climbed some trees while I took some photos of the beautiful blossoms forming: ![]() ![]() ![]() After some walking, we decided to go to Lynn Canyon and the suspension bridge there. I took a photo of the bridge, but should have checked the card because i'm having some issues with one lens lately, and it didn't record the photo. Durn. Moses didn't like the bridge much, and hurried across! On the other side he found a huge rock to climb, can you spot him on the top? ![]() Moses loved it here because he LOVES to 4x4 through the forest...he was in his glory. We hiked to the 30 foot pool. Lynn Canyon usually has one death a year from young people diving into the pools and breaking their necks, etc. It's a beautiful place, and you CAN swim in parts, you just have to take precautions and be careful. This time of year the water is COLD COLD COLD, coming down from the mountain (about 10 degrees Celsius)....but someone decided they wanted to try out swimming!![]() He swam around for quite awhile, coming out and then running back in again...I was quite surprised. ![]() Finally the cold got to him though, and he lay shivering and wet on the rocks. Kelsey warmed him up for a few minutes, and because of his coat (wire-hair with no real undercoat) he dried within about 10 minutes. Another photo of the pool: ![]() I didn't take as many photos as I'd like, my main lens is acting up real bad, and I guess I'll have to send it in for repair.

Great photos, Ginger - as usual! All that green grass and those blossoms...yer kilin' me! We still have snowbanks here! Moses is a beautiful dog - he looks like such fun! I got a new camera today (going to the Grand Canyon next week so I figured it was time to upgrade - I am hoping to take a shot to blow up and hang in my living room) and took a few shots of my house and my pooches...I just need to find a place to host them so I can put'em up here...maybe I'll do that tomorrow when I am supposed to be doing my taxes
Thanks for sharing! |

Hey Ginger, the 'my day'-threat is a great idea. I am a big contributor to the 'random pic'-thread myself as I don't want to start threads whenever I go for a short walk.... and I like the idea of seeing pics of where and how the peeps are living.
And your pics are great - as usual! ![]() Andrea |

BTW, have you seen "Manufactured Landscapes" ? If not, it's a great, great film. It's a documentary that follows photographer Edward Burtynsky to China, as he captures the effects of the country’s massive industrial revolution. His images are utterly captivating and breathtaking...I watched it alone, and yet I can't tell you how many times I said "oh my gosh" and "wow" out loud. |

I love this photo! Thought I would look at it in B&W, but prefer the colors in the original you posted: ![]() |

Wow, Tesla, those clouds look ominous! Is the water rough there? Like surfer-quality?
Russ: I tried it in B&W too, but got the same impression...I think it's just too exposed, the sun was shining very bright and it was about noon...I think I'll go back on a cloudier day and try again...I think it has real potential as a b&w. Scott, looking forward to the photos! |
