Top Ten list for Viva Azteca

Top 10 best things about Viva Azteca
by Vince, age 9, from Ohio, who was at Viva Azteca with his family
March 30 to Apr 7, 2003 - notes in comments from Vince's mom

#10 A tv in the room with the Cartoon Network
.....(few other television channels in English)
#9 The jacuzzi
.....(solar heated, so never "hot" - kids allowed in)
#8 The shows - every night, 9:45 to 10:45 p.m.
.....(some of the humor at the "Talent Show" was a too crude for
kids, but most of the shows featured lots of dancing and lip synching to
American pop songs)
#7 Tennis courts
.....(reserve court time and get racquets and balls at the front
desk. Play early before it gets too hot!)
#6 Body surfing
.....(Great beach. Great waves. Boogie boards available, but most
of the kids just liked to body surf.)
#5 The pool
.....(a lovely pool for cooling off. Small kiddie pool area. no
where to swim laps, but hey, we were on VACATION.)
#4 The breakfasts
.....(French toast, pancakes, and bacon for Vince. Omelettes and
interesting pastries for me. Lots of beautiful fresh fruit and
juices for all of us.)
#3 The desserts, especially the cream puffs and meringue cakes
.....(need I say more?)
#2 The ping pong
.....(for some reason, the kids LOVED to hang out by the pool bar
and play ping pong)
and the #1 best thing about Viva Azteca
#1 The pool bar - fruit punch, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fries
.....(My daughter would have voted for the virgin strawberry
daiquiris. The kids LOVED to be able to go up to the bar and order
a drink from the bartender whenever they wanted one. In the afternoon
you could make yourself a frozen yoghurt cone at the pool bar too.
Yummy)

(We had a great time at Viva Azteca but there were only a few English speaking boys near Vince's age when we were there! Do not count on finding more than a few kids your child's age and sex who are American or Canadian. Most guests at Viva Azteca are Italian or German.)

Great review :)

Although I'm 20 and don't plan on having kids for a loooong time, that was a helpful review there, nothing wrong with yummy strawberry daquiri's, my favourite drink! I'm Canadian and I'm going down there with a couple other Canadian chicks and I've heard the same thing...because it's owned by Europeans (Italian?) A LOT of the folks that go are European too. Which from what I've heard makes for a lot of topless sun tanning. Glad to hear the beach is nice! 8)
