Playa.info needs your help! Adopt a Playa.info cat
Over the years we have welcomed some stray cats to be our office cats and they have all have turned out to be great pets. We're soon closing our current office to open the shop on 10th Street (at La Rana Cansada), where we can't have any pets so we desperately need new homes for them. They have been with us for years and we really would love to give them to new loving owners.
If you could take one or more of our cats, a big stone would be lifted from our hearts. They are all spayed and neutered. They also all have their rabies shots, and they can easily be transported to the US if you don't live here. Please let us know if you can help us out - these cats have given us a lot of joy over the years and we would love to see them happy with someone else. Here are our beautiful cats: ![]() Precious Precious is a sweet and beautiful little Siamese cat. She started out having a tough life. When she came to us she was the saddest little cat you’ve ever seen - just skin and bones, bald patches all over, broken whiskers. She spent months just sleeping and eating. She was so weak she couldn’t even sit up, and it took her months to get strong enough to be able to jump up in bed. Eventually she got stronger, her fur filled out and she’s now a wonderful and very affectionate cat. She has many of the Siamese traits - she's quite talkative and she's very social and loves being with people. We would never let her go if we didn’t have to. ![]() Alien Space Kitty Kitty was our first cat. She came home with us from a hotel called Nuevo Amanecer, which was a cheap backpacker's hotel where we spent a few months when we first got here (it's now gone; it used to be on Calle 4 btw 5th and 10th, where the big fort-like building is now). When we first met her in the hotel, we called her Kitty, but after we got to know her we wanted her to have a 'real' name. James thought she was kind of aloof, and came up with the name Alien Space Kitty. She’s a gorgeous tabby with a dainty little face. She loves to be close to us, but her problem is that she’s bullied by the other cats. She needs a home where she’s the only pet, and she’ll be able to relax. She can be a bit skittish, but responds very well to affection and loves being around people. ![]() Tessy This is a great cat with lots of character. She's been known to chase dogs away yelping for help. She's strong and confident and fun. She's always been a favorite of mine. She goes well with other cats or dogs at all, very easy going, but at the same time strong and affirmative in her dealings with other animals. ![]() Wendy Wendy is a very cool cat, who is totally relaxed with people, other cats, dogs, you name it. She’s a slender tortoiseshell in red and black who is super-easy and pleasant to have around. She goes under the name 'The Friendly Cat' but also sports the nickname 'The Urban Camouflage Cat' because she kind of blends into things and you don't see her until you almost sit on her. Not that she minds - she's the Friendly Cat. ![]() Penny This is a funny and very social cat. She is most probably part Siamese, judging from her coloring (white with pointed ears and tail) as well as her personality - she is curious, rambunctious, talkative and very much into people. She was the one cat that took to Elsa when she was born - she was very interested in the baby and all going-ons, whereas the others resented the competition for attention. She’s also cool with other cats, dogs and children. Penny is a great addition to any family. ![]() Todd The only male in the group, he’s a big and handsome red tabby who likes to lie around and keep an eye on things. He's the only cat we got as a kitten - we actually saw him being born. He was born during hurricane Mitch; we stayed with our friends Miguel and Jennifer for a week and their cats had kittens when we were there. He used to be quite the hunter when he was younger - once he even caught a bat - but has now totally mellowed out and spends his days like a cat should, eating and sleeping. He is fine with other animals, but he's not as macho as he looks (he's kind of a pussy actually ). Along with the free T-shirt, Todd also comes with a complimentary whisky bottle with a couple of garden snakes in alcohol - a memory of his more active days.

Kitty cats looking for new homes
I'll come check out your kitty cats when I'm there. I already have three, and two small dogs, but what's one more? So, it would have to be very accepting of other animals. Mine are. My neighbor is a cat lady, and a few of her cats come over to visit from time to time. No problems. My cats are all fixed so they're not very territorial.

I am going to be very sad to see them go...I am so attached to the kitties. I wish my dogs would allow them in our house, Michael is in love with Kitty. In the mornings, as I come walking up to the office door, the kitties come running like I'm the Pied Piper. The other day, when I was off work, I walked on the other side of the street near the office, but still the kitties all came running to the office door. They are really nice cats. |

This is really too bad for you'all, I know you will miss having them around. My sweetie just said it was a good thing this thread did not come up before we were there last week or he would have to have another female in the house, that Penney is so sweet. I just have one cat right now so I'm thinking it's not going to take much for me to be talked into another sometime. Good luck on finding a happy home for them all.

Anna.... they are all such pretty kitties!! And the descriptions you gave of each should help a lot in placing them in loving homes (although if you know their approximate ages, perhaps you could list that also?). Please give them all a special knuckle rub on the head from the Crazy Cat-Lovin' Bead Lady!! ![]() |
