transfer from the airport to Playa...

Our travel package from the TA includes a roundtrip transfer to the resort (Sandos Playacar) from the airport.
I am wondering if we should book through playa info. though because I have read that sometimes it can take up to 2-3 hours to get to the resort.
Should I just keep the complimentary transfer? Or should I got for the playa info. transportation?
I just want to get to the resort as soon as possible after we leave the airport. I would use the complimentary transfer on the way to the airport the day we leave to go home.

We are arriving around 1:30pm (I believe) on a Sunday, July 8th.
I know complimentary saves money though....not sure what we'll do just yet

My husband and I went there last year. We booked our trip with Funjet and had comp transport from the airport also. I took us about 1- 1 1/2 to get there, it was late in the evening and the bus was full. The only good thing was that they served beer and the Sandos was the first stop once we acutally got to Playa.

Have been to Playa many, many times, both via private & complimentary transfer, & it has never taken 2 - 3 hours to get there.

It totally depends on where the other people on your bus are going. If someone is in a resort that is far from the highway it can take the longest time to get in and out. It's anyone's guess really. Booking a private transfer you know you'll get in a vehicle right away as you exit the airport and taken directly to your resort, non-stop - unless you want to make a pit stop for beer etc of course, 'cause that's no problem.

I am cheap...If it was included I would take it...We booked through TA & were at our hotel within an hour.

That being said at Christmas we booked our transfer through playa.info & it was great! They were right on time, friendly etc.... Will book with them next time for sure!

I'm with Tommygurl! I'm cheap too!

If it's part of the package, I'd go with it. Use the money you'd have spent on a private transfer for a nice dinner in Playa!!

But... if you DO decide to do the private transfer to the resort with the intention of doing the included transfer back to the airport, be sure to find out how/where you get the vouchers for the transfer back to the airport. I don't recall exactly, but I think they might give those out when you take the transfer from the airport to the resort, so I wouldn't want to see you get stuck having no choice but to do the private transfer both ways when you'd only want it for one way.

The front of a vacation is not the place to cheap out. Much better to start it right with this site lining it up. Heather has always set up my family's transportation to/from the airport and I would not have it any other way. After four hours in a plane, the last thing I want is 2-3 hours in a bus. Maybe cheap out on the end, but not the start. The touchdown to Playa sets the tone for the week IMHO.

I always take a private transfer, I do not want to be waiting in line in some lobby when I could be sitting on the beach. This is just my opinion.

I vote for the private transport too. Even when I have had it included I have opted for private. I have found the included transfers can make you wait to get there and also want to take you back to the airport earlier than needed. Just my opinion.
