Coba or Ek-Balam/Valladolid?

My wife and I arrive in PDC on the 30th and will be staying at the Playacar Palace.
We have done all of the included tours except these and wanted to know which is better? As we will only have 6 days in between travel days, we don't want to bog ourselves down. If neither are all day tours, we might consider doing both.
I've always wanted to climb the ruins but that was barred as of last year and suspect that hasn't changed.
Your thoughts?
Thanks

You can still climb the pyramid in Coba, which is the tallest in the Yucatan. These ruins are in the jungle and are not as restored as Chichen Itza, but because of this they seem more authentic to me. I was there a few years ago and plan to return next Feb.

Thanks Jesus...I absolutely loved Ek Balam and of the five I've been to it's at the top of my list. Each site offers something different and this one is very special.

Coba is fascinating and kind of... eerie, to me. Ek Balam, though farther away, gives you way more for your money and time, in my opinion. I always feel I'm on a movie set because it's so dramatic there.

We've toured several sites, including both of these, which were our favourites. They are both quite different - so you're sorta' looking at apples and oranges. Coba was marvelous, but I think Ek Balam is more dramatic and unique. The bas-reliefs are striking, and one of the most memorable things we've seen in the area.

Ek Balam with out a doubt. The ruins there are literally rewriting the books on Mayan art.
