It works, the word of mouth spreads quick. If you are home (or at work) watching the coverage you are able to alert your people on a cell phone or call them at work.

The national weather service determined that there were at least two tornados in the area. The one in Haltom city was on the ground for two miles. Lots of sraightl line wind damage as well. The videos and pictures of the tornado and the damage are incredible. 18 wheelers piled on top of each other mangled metal hanging from power lines. Two people died...one from a heart attack after getting physically caught up in the tornado and then burried under a pile of lumber. The other a police officer who lost control of his car in the rain while trying to get to an accident scene. Could have been sooo much worse. I don't get to see the news much...had no idea how huge this storm is. I heard that before it's over this storm alone will probably affect 3/4 of the US. Put 'yer hard hats and floaties on people

You cannot imagine the weather here today; it's wild, to say the least.

It's April, for cryin' out loud, and the wind chill is in the low 20s - gusts over 50 (I'm about 5 miles from the coast and the winds are wicked bad and consistent) - I left home this morning in a blizzard - f'real, a blizzard on top of last night's floods with more floods this morning. Schools (except mine, of course) are cancelled.

Still, I'm happy I'm not further north - be prepared folks in New England.

If ever I wanted to run outta NJ, it's now.

So I haven't had a chance to follow it...is this part of the storm we had down here? Crazy mess isn't it?

I made out fine - the commute to work was rough but when I got home the ground level of my building was flooded - three out of four apartments were hit. It's a shame - the people down there get slammed constantly.

Love ya more for asking

I saw the tornado damage on the news and thought about you who live in the area. Jesus, that was some bad weather. I am glad you all are safe.

Carole, I'm glad you're okay. I'm sorry about your neighbors. I didn't realize that storm went that far . Glad I'm on the left coast.

KellyK - it was good to talk to you the other night. Glad you and Shirlee both came through fine. I hope I made sense in the middle of my wine tasting. I was just a little dunk The next morning I looked at my phone and went huh, I talked to Kelly last night??? And then it came back.
