Palace Resorts

For Palace members who have recently returned from the Playacar Palace (where we are staying 4/30-5/7), can you tell me if there was anything in particular that you did to garner extra special service during your stay?
It stands to reason that tips are a given but I figure that members might know some less obvious means to increase the wow factor.
Thanks

Not a Palace member...used exchange through RCI a week ago...got wonderful service and wonderful room. Dinner in the Italian was great, Asian was fun and quite good...sushi was an unexpected delight, Thai appetizers and the martinis at Luna Lounge a must! Buffet was average. Try a sandwich at the pool bar for lunch...unusual but quite good! The grills at lunch were average...the paella was decent.

Nothing, they treat everyone special. Just be polite and smile. It's human nature to be nice to someone who is pleasant. After you check in if the room is not to your liking go back to the desk and see if ou can get a different one. Tips are not really needed although we do tip. There's always a smile and a "it's a pleasure to serve you" either way.
Have a great trip and enjoy.

yup....let them know you are there for a good time, be friendly and the majority of the staff are more than happy to have 'fun' too!
Don't be a snob.
My 83 y/o mother loved dancing with the waiters when the music was right....they've loved that! Take the time to ask about their life too. Many of the staff are married with kids....they love to talk about their kids.

Service is great. Have been to Playacar Palace twice and it was probably the best. We spoke to everyone (tried in Spanish as much as we could), asked a lot of questions and interacted with the staff. They are great people and can really provide some great information. They all work very hard.
