bad experience at mayan palace

I own two weeks at the Mayan Palace is Mazatlan and bought it thru the location in Neuvo Vallarta. I was in Neuvo two weeks ago with friends and thought I would take them there for lunch and a tour of the pool.
What a bad experience. I went to register at the desk and was told I culd not come in since it was not my week. I called for manager and explained I brought friends there to see the grounds, spend money on lunch, drinks etc and was told no again and shown the door. I have never met such bad Mexican hospitality and I surely won;t go there again. I plan to rent, trade or sell my timeshare . This has been an embarassing experience.

Mayan Palace Cancun

Hola Valerie, Sorry about the way you were treated at the Cancun Mayan Palace. That wasa definitely not right,as an owner of 2 weeks time share with the Mayan Palace Corporation, they should have welcomed you to come in and look over the location and on top of that, to turn down cash sales which helps their bottom line I do not understand at all. I have been in the hospitality business all my life and you are always looking for good business. I also own 2 weeks at the Mayan Palace plus what they call 2 fare weeks wherein you can use 2 extra weeks as long as you pay the maintenance fee for those 2 extra weeks. which you can use at any of their many places as long as you sign up far enough in advance. I was at Playacar(next to Playa del Carmen Area) in Feb. 2003 and spent a fabulous week at the Riu Palace, which I consider the best Hotel I have ever seen in ALL aspects. I also spent 2 weeks in Puerto Vallarta in March 2003 and while there visited the 2 Mayan Palaces there, one in the Marina Vallarta on the same road as the Marriot Hotel so yuou know it is in a very good area. The 2nd one they have there is in Noveau Vallarta about 15 miles from Vallarta. I visited both of them and showing my ownership papers was greeted very warmly at both places and in fact at the Noveau Vallarta Mayan I was told that if I wanted to go to the bar or the Dining Room I was very welcome. So, it ends up that the treatment you will receive is probably based on the philosophy that the local General Manager instills in his staff. At the Mayan in Noveau Vallarta, there was 3 very courteious young ladies working at the Concierege Desk and they all could not have been nicer. In fact they alloowed me to take a picture of them which I am going to mail to the, Th head one at the desk was Nelly who was Excellent. Muchas Gracias, Bill Chappell

Was your bad experience at the Mayan Palace Cancun, or Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta? We just got back from Mayan Palace Cancun, and I'd be shocked that they turned away any chance to show someone the facility!
