iHola!

....Puff from Washington DC, and I'm a non-recovering Playa-holic.

I"m here for the 2nd time in 2007. I came with friends in February and loved it so much I'm back again. [PHOTOS: http://s176.photobucket.com/albums/w...ayaMexico2007/]

Stayed in Playacar phase I last time. Highlights of the trip were eating with locals (off a bicycle cart), and working to make friends with locals (without the benefit of much spanish).

This time I'm staying at villa Moderno (Kaan #10 on Calle 12 between 10/15th), and have learned a little spanish, which I'm slowly building the confidence to use with locals (they all speak better english than I would expect!).

Mostly I'll be visiting with a local friend I made here in February, and trying to attend to some unfinished underwater [scuba diving] business. I also may take some private spanish lessons when my friend is working and am looking for suggestions for other "MUST DO" activities.

Unfortunately all my travel companions from the US all backed out this time (some at the last minute) and my local friend works late most nights, so I'd love to meet up with others who are out and around town, especially in the afternoon/evening. Send me a PM.

I'm here until Tuesday night unless I decide to extend my stay.

Hey Puff,

have a look at the 'ppepstuff'-section and either you find some peep-meets announced there or if you don't just set up something yourself. There are ALWAYS peeps in Playa and it is lots of fun to hang out with them. Try it you won't regret it...

I wish I were available to meet up and dive in Playa. But alas, I am stuck here inside the Beltway!

go to la rana. jez will be there. he can hook you up with jason aka playacountryboy. he does dive trips regularly.

Thanks amigos, I'll try frogs, and then head out to the peep-meet.

I've scheduled a very quick refresher and then dive off baraccuda with "coco" at dive mike's for later today. It's been a while since I've been diving, but I liked the idea of an hour or so in the pool instead of blowing a whole day doing a refresher course.

Hello there Puff - just wanted to let you know my partner and I ages 40 and 55 are in Playa Del Carmen next week as well from Ontario Canada.
We are staying outside of town at the Palladium White Sands Resort, but hope to make it in to town to visit the locals / other travellers at least a few times during the week.
