Golf in and around Playa

Okay, so I'm a newbie to Playa. I went down there with a friend last time who doesn't golf. I was curious if anyone had a really great golf experience in or around Playa, Playacar, Puerto Aventuras, Paamul area? I'm a school teacher somewhat tied to a budget, but would like to play a few rounds. If there is anyone out there with information or suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. If you would like to talk golf, let me know, or if you want a game next time I'm in Playa (Julyish) let me know. Thanks!

Lots of golf questions recently, and a Peep who shared her golf day.
A quick search found this...

I tried that, but once I got in Playa, the management from Kool and Mamitas took my clubs away. I guess I was getting sand in people's drinks. Why are all these naked people on my golf course?

Not a golfer and have never played in Mexico but my home is on the golf course in Puerto Aventuras and I can tell you that the condition of greens/fairways is less than desired. However, it appears to be busy from early morning to about 10:00 AM. I know there is a plan to redevelop golf course in PA.

I noticed that when I was there about 3 weeks ago. I wasn't real impressed with the condition. I'm not sure whether its a fairly new course which hasn't matured, or did it get have a lot of damage from hurricanes. I was supprised to see that in such a beautiful development. None the less, I appreciate the feedback.
