Help with buying property AND starting a business in Playa?

Hi,
We just returned from Cancun (parents owned for 15 years) and want to buy in Playa del Carmen. We may want to start a business as well. Any resources you can share on purchasing property and/or buying/starting a business (like gourmet foods) will be most appreciated.
We live in Massashetts and want to make a radical lifestyle change...
Anyone out there do this?

I personally have done quite a bit of research on the same topic. There is lots of information on the internet. First, use the search function here on this forum, as I've seen a bunch of threads about moving here. Check out www.cancunassist.com, which discusses topics such as immigration, getting jobs (which is very difficult, since in most cases you can't do any job a native Mexican can). Susie Marie Bandick wrote an e-book about moving to Playa from Canada with her family...pretty funny and informative (she posts on this board sometimes).

Funny...my wife talked about opening the same kind of business (gourmet foods). She's one hell of a cook.
