RPDC - Secret to getting upgrade?

I booked my Oceanview room a couple of months ago. Since reading all the great reports on this board, we would love to upgrade to an OceanFront room.

I called the hotel - and of course, for the days that we are going, THEY say there are no OceanFront rooms available.

I had planned on upgrading to the OceanFront at the time of online check in.

My questions:
1. What is the likelihood that these rooms are truly not available.
2. What is the likelihood that if they are unavailable, that they might be available by next week?
3. Is there any top secret Travel Agent schmooze factor formula that someone could teach me to increase my chances?

Thanks

We just got back from RPDC last Thursday. The prior Tuesday, April 17, after 6:00 P.M. I was able to get into the system to request the room. It was telling me we had a Oceanfront Beach Walk-Out, which we had only paid for a Royal Junior Suite Oceanview. Since the only beach walk-out available was the 2nd to the far end of the resort, and we did not want to have a chance of them telling it was an error, plus, we had wanted a room overlooking the pool and close to the beach. We decided on room 297. Called my travel agent the next day, she said they must have upgraded us since we had been there last April 2006. Since we have been back, I looked up the price deference which is about $1,100.00 O'Well...also the room 297 over the pool ended up pretty noisy with the PA system so loud during all the pool games all afternoon.Forget a late afternoon nap before party time in the evening....if we would of picked the beach walk-out it would of been alot further walk, but alot less noise. We should of at least looked at the room pictures and how it looked looking outside but didn't. Good luck choosing your room.Food and service was great.Beautiful resort.
