Nah. I think I've been permanently banned from the brickyard. The past 4 years I've gone to Pole Day, I've seen exactly 3 hours of green flag. Rain and cold the rest of the time. I'm doing Milwaukee the week after Indy, Chicagoland in September, and will try and hook up with norml in Elkhart Lake for the CCWS race in August.

Gotta make time for Maine. Last year was my first ever trip and I fell head over heals in love with the place.

Always wanted to see Maine....and Vermont too. I have been to NYC and Long Island, and Pennsylvania, but that's it.

Right now it's looking like Cabo is not too likely...unless Frontier sends me notice of some super saver deal, which they sometimes have....but we will likely just head west, spend a couple days at Golden, British Columbia and do some ww rafting on the Kicking Horse again, and maybe a couple days at Fairmont Hot Springs, something like that.

Has anybody traveled to Petra in Jordan?
I would like to know how easy it would be to move around that country.

Jesus, I have colleagues who went to Jordan on business and visited Petra on a weekend (which is thursday/friday in the Middle East). I could ask them. Gotta have to wait till friday though as I am not in the office till then.

Alaska cruise.

Not too sure I'm happy about packing warm clothes to be on a cruise ship.

I'm really looking forward to Grand Bahama at Easter!!

Thanks, I would appreciate. My Mom wants to travel to Europe and she also wants to see Petra, so I'm checking for options to fly from Greece or any of the more common departure points to Jordan.
And yes, I would think it would be only a couple days there.

Interesting fact about the weekend on Thu/Fri. I would have never guessed that.

We wanted to see more of the caribbean, and though I have never thought myself on a cuise ship, we are going on a cruise in the Eastern Caribbean. The ship is going from Puerto Rice so we are spending a week there. Can't wait!

Man, Jesus- you bumped this thread up from a long time ago. We went to Cabo last summer!

Our friends who lived in Dubai, UAE for 6 years flew to Jordan and saw Petra once. They said it was really amazing.

But hot. And they were used to the heat. Go in their 'winter'. (They said Turkey/Istanbul was cheaper and more interesting. Also go there during the comparitively cooler time of year!)

The said it was pretty modern and clean and safe- tourist friendly- but pricey; Turkey was cheaper.

Hey, thanks for the tips. My Mom has seen the pictures of Petra and of course that would be the only attraction in the area, besides the Dead Sea, that she wants to visit. Regarding cost, well, we are still in the pre-planning stage and anything can happen.

Babs would be proud!

Good luck with the researching. Lots of amazing things to see in the world isn't there.
