head over to 4 between 10th and 15th for cow utter and tounge tacos. 'tacos de ubre y lengua de vaca'
just up from there on 4 and 25 you can get great cow head soup. 'sopa de cabeza'
now thats "local" and "authentic" dining.

Can you give us the names of the places? I'd love to try!!!

Also, I assume you mean "udder?" (Although I'm sure the food is utterly delicious!)

Another of our MUST stops (off 5th) for excellent ceviche and prawn cocktails is Cockteleria Veracruz - an orange building on 10th (couple blocks south of Juarez) right opposite the carpark next to Paseo del Carmen where southern end of 5th shopping starts.
Lovely big prawns and loads of them marinated just right, preceded by a delicious complimentary cup of seafood broth. Flan is good here too. Consistently good, always clean, can take out also but closes around 6-7pm. A trip to Playa is not complete for us without a visit here - totally addictive!

i think it's 'tacos gonzalez.' on 4 between 10 and 15. orange awning in front of the vans to tulum etc. "tacos de ubre" are udder tacos.
you can get head soup and tacos up the street between 20 and 25 on 4. white and blue restaraunt and says 'cabeza' on the wall.
let me know if it's good!

Thanks! I will report back, for sure!!! I'm REALLY looking forward to this.

I love serious authentic ethnic food.

(See my "balut" thread for the exception!)
