All the other tips mentioned so far are good. A couple of additional suggestions... I went out and bought a pair of cargo pants that the legs zip off so when I get on the plane, I'm wearing pants, by the time we land...I'm in shorts (I bet you thought I was going to say I wasn't wearing any
). Also make sure you have a pen with you so you can fill out the Tourist and Customs card on the plane. The airlines never have enough to go around and you won't have to wait to borrow someone else's..other people take FOREVER to fill the things out! ALso make sure you fill it out correctly and sign the Tourist card on both spaces on the back. This way you'll avoid having to go back to the end of the line if it's not done correctly. Immagration is usually much faster than Customs...but it depends on you arrival time. Baggage claim varies as mentioned before. Have a good time...you be hooked once your in Playa! |

addresses if your planning on sending postcards (i always mean to but never do!)
[/quote] Better mail those postcards when you get back to the States . Who knows when they will arrive if you mail them in Mexico - maybe never .

One week trip. We pack extremely light. Just do carry ons. Three pairs of shorts, four tops, 3 sundresses, underwear of course for each day, pair of sneakers, flip flops, 1 pair of dress shoes. Assorted medicines, shampoo, tooth brush and paste, lots of sunscreen, and cheap inflateable float. That's about it. Leave curling iron and all other hair gunk at home. I'm on vacation, and with heat and humidity have found all that all the work into fixing hair doesn't last longer than walking out of your room.

Like Synestere mentioned, pretty much everything mentioned on this thread is available in Playa.
It's, what a 50 peso cab ride from Playacar or 20 pesos from the main part of Playa to the Mega, Chedraui or Walmart? The Playacar AI that I stayed at had bicycles (and locks for them) so I could go into town for free & burn some calories. Yes, I know I'm weird. But to me, the Playa Walmart was an attraction by itself. If you're as fat and tall as I am, clothing may be scarce. But everything else, they have there. |

Bandaids and Q-tips!
A always seem to get some sort of foot ailment, a blister, or a cut, and need a bandaid. I always take Q tips on trips, they are a great invention! And my new favorite thing is the spray-on wrinkle reducer. Target sells it in little bottles for 1.99. And a water proof camera- they are soo much cheaper buying them at home vs. in Playa |

We also do "carry-ons." We put some intense suntan lotion in small containers within the "baggies". We also have stick suntan lotion with less spf. (I believe from Bath and Body works). I spend a lot of time on the beach in the shade so it works for me. I also pre-tan a little.
In April, I splurged and took a flat iron for my hair. It helped - but it also wasn't super humid during our stay. |
