Lots of sunscreen, more than you think you will need.
Aloe vera gel for when you forget to reapply above mentioned sunscreen. Benadryl. Good sunglasses and a hat. Less clothes than you think you'll need. Your own snorkel. |

Don't forget your toothpaste and small toiletries! They are extremely expensive if purchased in the EDR gift shop! Also, bring your camera so that you can give a very detailed trip report with lots of photos! We will be there in August and have been once before. We loved it! Have fun!

Forget your "check in" luggage! Take a legal sized rolling carry-on with a day pack (book back pack). Roll your clothes and only take a few shoes that are the weight of flip flops. ( Ladies, they make dressy wedge and heel flip flops.) Wear your sneakers if you feel you need them. Leave your jacket in your home airport locker or in your car.
You will be so happy that you don't have to wait for your luggage at the Cancun airport! It is one more long , long ordeal at the end of a travel day. You wait in many lines. Get to your van/bus and relax! |

Safety pins. I always bring safety pins. You never know when you might need one.
As for doing carry-on only for a week at a resort.... HA! That's dreaming!! I'd like to see the look on your wife's face when you suggest that! The only "line" (wait) you'll avoid by doing carry-on is waiting for your luggage to be unloaded, and we've gotten our luggage in as little as 10 minutes on some trips, maybe 30 minutes tops on others. Personally, I'd much rather trade off a possible 30 minutes of waiting for my luggage at Cancun airport than spending who knows how long going to the store and then roaming around trying to find/figure out the price of items that I couldn't bring with me due to carry-on restrictions. I'd rather have all my stuff with me and be done with the it. The other lines (Immigration and Customs) you'll have to wait in no matter if you do carry-on or have 14 steamer trunks. EVERYONE goes through Immigration and EVERYONE goes through Customs (that's the green light/red light spot). Last edited by Nerak936; 05-08-2007 at 07:21 PM. |

I wish I had gone to the dollar store and bought a couple of blow up floats. They were $15 at our resort. I saw a couple of people with the noodles. They take up too much room in the suitcase though.
Lots of sunscreen.and an extra pair of flip flops...also very expensive Have a wonderful time! [ |
