I am leaving out sunday morning at 6 am and will be staying until Thursday. I am so excited! I booked my room online...i hope it's a good one. If anyone has any last minute advice, let me know. And I will be back with a great trip review for all! Thanks so much!

Have a great time! We loved the resort and Playa. We're just trying to line up vacation time for our next two vacations - a cruise that stops on Cozumel, so we can day-trip to Playa, and our next stay in PDC. Hopefully we can get both in the next 12 months!

OK, I'm kinda slow.
Are you going to the Royal Playa del Carmen (the one on the beach at the end of Constituyentes?) Or are you going to the Real Playa del Carmen (the one at 10th and 26th. I think it's 26th. It's somewhere inland.) I signed up for Worry Free Vacations weekly E Mail and they are running a Kids Eat & Stay free special for the Real PdC. AI's 3 blocks away from the soccer stadium pwn all! |

We just got back from the Royal yesterday....this was our second stay at the Royal and it was even better than the first trip.
We had a Royal Oceanview Junior Suite....we debated upgrading to oceanfront, but decided against it and I'm glad we did. We were in room 398 and it was perfect....it was one of the closest rooms to the ocean so we actually had a good view of the ocean and it was also overlooking the pool. Other good rooms that aren't "oceanfront" would be 297-299 and 397-399. If you're a beer drinker one thing I would suggest is taking an insulated can holder (we call it a coozy). They serve beer in cans and they get warm quickly so the holder will help. We only ate at the buffet a couple times, for breakfast and lunch we usually ate at Pelicanos.....the seafood soup was awesome and my husband loved the flank steak! Their shrimp cocktail was also great....it's called Marco Polo. Also keep in mind that you can basically order anything...you don't have to go off the menu. I normally like to try all kinds of food, but I had a huge craving for a cheeseburger and order one from Pelicanos...it was GREAT! We also loved Asiana...the sushi was very good and so were the meals. |
