Finland stun hosts Russia in semis

MOSCOW, Russia (Reuters) -- Mikko Koivu scored an overtime winner to send Finland into the ice hockey world championship final with a 2-1 victory over Russia on Saturday.

The Minnesota Wild forward stole the puck off Russia goaltender Alexander Eremenko's stick to slip into an empty net at 5:40 of the 10-minute extra-time period . . .

Koivu's goal stunned the Russians, who had been hoping to end their 14-year title drought on home ice.

Finland will take on the winners of the second semifinal between defending champions Sweden and Canada in Sunday's final.
