Hummingbirds return home today......did you hang your feeder?
We always hang our feeder for the hummingbirds on Mothers Day because that is when they return to us............
I forgot to hang mine yesterday and there she was this morning...........at the window with no sugar water I quickly cleaned the feeder out and made fresh sugar water and hung it up Did you remember to hang yours or at least freshen it up for them? They are so beautiful ![]() |

Mine showed up about a week and a half ago
![]() Check out www.hummingbirds.net they have a migration map that's always interesting to watch. I've seen a couple of feeders around Playa but have never seen a hummer there though. Frank |

I didn't realize they'd be around just yet. I'm off to check out that site regarding migration..........thanks Frank
We have quite a few feeders but my favorite is right in front of our kitchen sink. It is so amazing to watch these little guys. Quite a job to keep up with the cleaning of the feeders though. They get nasty pretty quickly! Gotta take care of those hummers though! Here's one of my favorite pics:![]() |

We actually even get them way up here!
But they don't seem to be around here yet, the date of our average last frost is May 24 so I think another couple weeks before they get here!BUT the canary finches are here! I have had my thistle seed feeder out for 2 weeks and noticed they were back last night. Quote:

We have hummingbirds all year long. Mostly Anna's Hummingbirds. The males have a greenish emerald back and a ruby red throat and a great arial (swooping) display.
![]() I like to watch them take showers in the sprinklers. Once while hand watering the lawn in our backyard, a hummingbird flew onto my shoulder and stayed there for a couple of minutes. ![]() |
