Chankanaab
Just a couple of questions hope you can help. We arrive in Playa in 6 days stopping in the Riu Palace Mexico
. We are thinking of taking the ferry to Cozumel, can you hire snorkeling gear at the Chankanaab park? & When do you think is the best day to go, i've heard the cruse ships stop there is and it gets very crowded is Sunday any quieter? Last question How long does the crossing take? Thanks in advance |

Yes, you can rent snorkel
equipment at Chankanaab park. Sunday would probably be the quietest day to go, but be aware not all the businesses downtown Cozumel will be open. Some stores base their hours on the cruise ships. You can get a schedule of cruise ships at www.travelnotes.cc and see how many boats are in at each pier, each day.

WE originally planned to go on a Sunday when we were in Cozumel. Things didn't work out that way and we ended up going o a Friday. We went very early and were some of the first ones there...before cruise ships unloaded. It was a blast. Unfortunately, I can;t remember when they open. Make sure you snorkle outside the children's lagoon area and up and down the shoreline there. It was beautiful when we were there...however, that was before hurricanes Emily & Wilma.
