Cheap Eats

My 22 year old daughter and friends are going to Playa in Aug. and have limited funds. We like every other tourist always eat on 5th. Any close (walking distance to the Playa Palms Hotel) recommendations where they can have a fun meal? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Carboncitos....Babes.....Karen's was fun with good music but I found it very pricey for what we got.

Read a lot of great things about Schlongo's Deli here and will be trying it out in a couple of days.

Well off 5th (not THAT far - and there are three of them), but El Fogon can't be beat for value and great food.

La Pesca, Great seafood, 30th Ave across from Mega. See the tread about it and lots of other off 5th Ave places under the Changarros Y Mas forum

Us too! Woo hoo!

1st timers here too! July 5th - 9th, staying at El Dorado Royale but coming to town for a day or two. Can't hardly stand the wait! This site has been a life saver as far as learning about Playa and knowing "almost" exactly where we wanna go and what we wanna do before we get there!

HC Monterrey, La Pesca, Pizza Pazza, almost all pizza joints on 5th are cheap and good and the kids should like them.

Something else to consider, lots of places have pretty big portions, so maybe share a meal!

VW Taco bus on 10th street.

Manne's Biergarten....

huge portions and you could definitely share.

Macaroni's beside Manne's. One third of the price for their Italian dishes. You chose the pasta, sauce, etc.

Pizza Pizzaz definitely. The carts by the bus station early in the morning and the fruit ladies. Lots of fruit to share.
