Our memorable and not so memorable 18 trip to Playa
We are back. We had a wonderful time. I don't know if I've got it in me to put together a trip report, but maybe I'll just do a slide show. I enjoyed meeting everyone that I had never met before and enjoyed spending time with those that I had met previously. We were lucky enough to have KellyK and Carole as our guests for 4 days, spent many days with ScottyB and his gorgeous girlfriend Amber. We had a wonderful dinner with Rick and Susie and got to a couple of peepmeets. We went diving with Paulo (DaddyB), and I got my scuba certification
We spent a day on Cozumel with Linda (Doggiemom) and Tim, which I am told I thoroughly enjoyed (note to self: stay away from Mexicans with tequila). Unfortunately, there are no pictures of this day It was a great trip, with many old friends and a few new ones (love ya Dave and Missy) I can't wait to do it again. I'll get the slide show done as soon as I can figure it out. Life is not easy when you're working with 2 brain cells.

Since I'm sitting here at the car dealership waiting for my 10,000 mile tune up I might as well start something. Mind you, I will never finish it, but I need to do something with my time and god forbid I actually do work
Day 1 - Left for the airport at 5:15 am. Check in went smoothly and we were sitting happily in the bar by 6:15. Two double bloody mary's each, a breakfast pizza and one valium later we board our non-stop flight to Playa. We had used miles to upgrade to first class, so we were pretty comfortable for our 6 hour flight. I dozed for a while and Kevin ordered drinks. When I woke up, he was already feeling no pain. We were still a couple of hours out of Cancun, so I figured I needed to catch up. I had a couple of glasses of wine and Kevin had more to drink. At one point I told the flight attendant that I needed to catch up with him, so she brought me a shot of tequila. (You ever hear that song tequila makes her clothes fall off?) Well, that was pretty much written for me We land in Cancun. We get to the customs line and I decide I have to go to the bathroom. Evidently tequila also makes me invisible, because I slipped right past the customs agent and go to the bathroom. Kevin spent the next 45 minutes in the customs line looking for me only to see me waving at him from the other side of the counter. I somehow think that he wasn't thrilled with my Houdini act, but he was a good sport about it. I crossed back over the customs line and we proceeded to go through like your supposed to.We both got the green light and we were off to get our transfer. Wow, what a start!!!!
What airline were you flying on? Just trying to think when they start serving and I guess it's as soon as they get up and levelled out. You've got the perfect cure for "nervous flyers".
The "disappearing act" is a classic. Now for the pics. |

Well, we didn't do much picture taking that first day, but our friends Mike and Vicki managed to capture us on the Xaman Ha webcam just shortly after our arrival. Don't ask what I'm doing, evidently the front of my pants was very interesting and Kevin (who went down in his boxers mind you) just looks gay. But, I will say that we managed to stay out until about 10 or 11 that night. We used all of the street coming home, but we stayed up
