Not exactly a letter - but a damn good blog with some stories that give a different view point in telling the soldiers' stories on the front line. Read the Bless the Beast and the Children one.

07/19/07 Hea everyone. Well you may of herd but I have found a new home and that home is in South West Baghdad in a place called Al Dora, im stationed on camp Falcon. I was chosen to come here to replace some men who were either killed or seriousely injured. Baghdad is a whole new world and very political, its a huge change to what I have been doing in Ramadi there are thousands of people and lots of cars. No matter what you guys are hearing on the news Baghdad is ****ed up this seems to be the final battle grounds and it is showing. Im not shure if it is more or less dangerous but I can tell you that at least were i am things are definatley hot. I have fallen into a great group of guys here and feel great about going into combat with them, they have taken a heavy toll with 53 purple hearts awarded and many killed, thats out of 100 men. Any way im not quit shure on the address yet but when im shure I will send it out. Also this does not mean that im coming home any sooner or later, I will be home at exactly the same time, my new battilion is still part of the 2ID 2nd brigade combat team so my redeployment will still be in Dec or Jan. Ok well I love you all very much. love Justin __________________________________________________ ______________ |
