It may be a foolish thread, buy many of us are investors and we've given politics and religion a good run, so why not investing

Its a great thread Roni...got any tips ?

I love investing. I look at our 401Ks every freaking day !!

Got to figure out what to do with hubbys 401 K from his previous co.

Should I roll it over into the new one or something else...

I need to go talk to some one.

I have 401k via my investment fund at work, but it has more than strictly mutual funds (I'm more heavily invested in stocks at present), so there's really no option for me to vote on.

But I do decide on my own where to invest.

Good idea . When Kathy left a previous employer that only had a 401K, we rolled it over into an IRA - more choices, could buy individual company stocks and lower management expenses (I don't charge her anything ). When I left Illinois, I rolled my State University Retirement System balance into an IRA. - but that does not mean it would be a smart thing to do with hubby's 401K.

We have some now that is in a plan that is managed by the Oregon Investment Council - we have no control over how that is invested, but they have done well - and it is all money that is put in by our employers. The other accounts we have control over.
