relocation companies

We need to find a relocation company to move our car from vegas to playa.

Any recommendations or advice on the whole moving process?

Thanks

One option is to make the drive from Brownsville, TX to Playa... roughly 1400 miles. With an SUV and an enclosed trailer attached, you could also haul any belongings you might need. Unfortunately, no one else can technically bring your vehicle across the border for you unless it's in their name. If you need an assistant/driver, I might consider that option.

Otherwise, you'd need the services of a broker to ship your car to Mexico and special insurance during the transportation phase. Hybur Shipping could get your car from Florida to Quintana Roo. Of course, you'd need to drive the vehicle to Florida yourself or use the services of someone like MoveAVehicle to get it there. Hopefully, this will be enough info to get you started and figure out the costs:

Hybur Shipping
10025 NW 116th Way, Suite 2, Medley,
FL 33178
Tel: (305)913-4933
Fax: (305)913-4900

In the long run, it might be cheaper, simpler and more expeditious to drive it to Playa del Carmen... 30-40 hours drive time from the border and it's done!

Hey JimmyMN, how the hell you been? If you drove to Playa, maybe next time you could pull my cargo trailer back to Texas where it would be alot easier to sell than in Playa! Anyway, any suggestions on just how to get my trailer to TX to sell? I was thinking of putting two hammocks in it (the trailer), getting a porta-potty and a few chairs and using it as a travel trailer to tour around MX

Hey Al... doing great! Unfortunately, business projects are keeping me from doing the things I prefer to do. Better than complaining that there's no business!!

Still laughing about that thread you and the Duck have running.. that's a classic.
Looks like you guys need to invest in an emoticon company. Believe you've used up all of the stock ones here, in ways that would get you arrested or banned from most forums.

I'd drag that trailer back but think I'll be driving a convertible on my next roadtrip to Mexico.

Jimmy

Moving here is very different from moving to another state and by no means simple. Are you coming in on tourist visas or FM3s (retirement/working visas)? That makes a big difference on how you bring things in. Have you heard of a menaje de casa? Most likely, you'll need one if you come in on an FM3. If you do an online search for the website of the Mexican consulate nearest you, you will probably garner lots of info.

You might also search on here for posts by barba, who had similar questions before she moved here, and ran into some big problems with moving companies.

The more streamlined you make things and the more you do yourself and the less you can live with down here, the better off you'll be.

Good luck.

Get new shocks on that car, take something for motion sickness, and drive fast. That should solve all of your problems.
