Snorkel fins for kids and other equipment related info
Hi, all... I have to once again thank everyone on this board. I've been able to get some great advice from reviewing previous posts.
I'm now planning for equipment. This is what I've gathered to date. Hoping this is correct. Bring your mask and snorkel with you. We should look for dry snorkel's instead of open. Mesh bags can be bought in PDC, but probably cheaper in states. Costco is a good place to buy snorkeling gear. I did have a question on fins. The adults in our group have them, but didn't want to travel with them and was planning to rent locally. I have a concern about being able to rent fins for the kids. Are child size rental fins easily available? Also, I did see a previous post asking if weekly rental of fins was possible, but I didn't see an answer. Also, on a completely separate note... I must stay away from this board during working hours. Got on to research about equipment and spent half an hour reading the LOST thread... you guys were much more interesting then the one that my husband reads on TWOP. |

If you plan to snorkel every day then I suggest you bring all of your gear. The fins that you rent are very uncomfortable and heavy. I am sure you can rent kids fins but again I would bring it all. Take an extra suitcase for all your gear and just buy a mesh bag before you go. No need to be looking around for a mesh bag when you need to be out snorkeling. And definintely buy the "dry" snorkel and not just the splash proof snorkel. You will enjoy your snorkeling so much more with a dry snorkel.
