Any Andre Rieu fans?

Anyone here a fan of Andre Rieu? I've seen his show on PBS, but was hoping to catch him either in Europe or on tour here in the US. His shows look like they'd be awesome live.

Has anyone here been to a live show?

Yupp, I have been a few times. He always gives concerts on January 1 in Cologne. He's in TV a lot and most of the times I watch the concerts. I like him, his orchestra always does seem to have fun but I don't hear his music all the time...

Andre makes the Dutch proud!

I'm not a fan of him, but I do appreciate what he does. It's always a pleasure to see how he interacts with his orchestra and the audience. And it seems to be impossible for the audience not to waltz in the isles. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Cool!

What's the typical cost of a ticket?

Not a fan, eh? I thought I'd rue the day that I agreed on the same music as my mother, but when she introduced me to him a year ago, I admit I was hooked. Now I can't wait to see him live...seeing a show in Maastricht would be ideal but I don't see that happening, based on his schedule. I guess I'll have to catch him in the US.

The cost of the ticket depend on where you are sitting. Our 'Köln Arena' is rather big and as far as I remember we paid about 70 USD per ticket (which was on the lower level) and sat up very high and far away so we could barely see him and the orchestra. So that's when we decided to not go there again (at least not in this price category). I've seen him here in the Philhamonic too many years ago and that was great. But that was in the early days of his career....

So for $70 you didn't have a really great seat? Wow...his concerts must be pretty spendy!

Yes, they are. Not sure about the US but over here the tickets are rather expensive.

Andre Rieu Tickets - Andre Rieu Concert Tickets Available!
Yikes...I'll have to check his website to see if tickets are cheaper than through the service you linked to. The Portland show only had 39 tickets left for $125-255. What the heck.....is he selling out like mad here? I must say I'm surprised. I'm going to try to see him when I'm in California in December, so I'll check how those venues are selling and what kind of $$$

Edit: OK, I checked another venue in Denver, tickets in CA aren't available yet. WHEW! Tickets are $45-$65, with the $65 ones being the best seats. Not bad!!
