Any thoughts or comments? I believe that Country is only begining to feel the pain Chavez is going to bring..... I hope I'm wrong, but I dont think so.

Erm- before putting up cynical remarks about folks from the US unexpectedly (in your opinion) caring about what goes on in the world- how about you caring enough about other countries to realize that "Mexican" (which you referred to in other threads) is not a language but that Spanish is spoken in Mexico??
I'd say you should get those things out of the way before picking on other countries for not caring enough about the rest of the world.

Um- suffer of twisted reality much? Many of your comments were childish, provking and/or ignorant........so they just prompted the reaction that was to be expected. It has nothing to do with being perfect- it has to do with manners when entering a new forum.

Its not so much a matter of him banning the TV station, the people are angrier that he replaced the station with continuous loops of Danny Glover movies. Who wouldn't be mad?

I happened 2 watch this live the other nite. quite sad to see RCTV taken off & another 'network' subbed in its place. There were 4 networks covering it but Caracol had the best live coverage after the event imo. watched the singing & chants by RCTV the crew & hosts on globovision right up to midnite.
then the screen went black.
TVES shows up in its place.
to hear such regret at losing a network so many respected for its cultural & local coverage was disheartening for those who value freedom of expression. Fortunately, Globovision seems to remain independent on the subject from the direction chavez wants to take the media, as evidenced by the hosts this am ranting on the tragedy of the whole thing. I can only hope it remains that way as long as possible.
