I need some recommendations

My husband and I are planning a vacation in early June. We have decided on Playa. We have also decided on all-inclusive, but goodness there are so many to wade through!

We want at least a 4-star, something on the beach with nearby nightlife. I have read about Senor Frogs and the ******, but I have no idea where they are in relation to the resorts I have looked at.

Any suggestions?

Resort

Iberostar Quetzel is a very nice hotel that many people request to stay in. It is a nice hotel and I can e-mail you some good pictures if you would like. If you want to be close to 5th Ave for night life then Gran Porto Real is walking distance. It is a nice 5 star hotel. The beach isn't the greatest because it is rocky in areas but if you walk a few feet north the beach gets nicer. It depends on whether you would like to have an okay beach and be close to down or have a nice beach and be further away.

Iberostar Tucan

The Iberostar Tucan is a great resort. I have been to Playa two times and stayed at the Tucan once. I am going back in September to the Tucan for 10 nights. The Iberostar Quetzel is attached to the Iberostar Tucan, they share a mutual pool. I do not remember the beach being rocky, just lots of white sand and blue water. The staff was nice and the food was wonderful (I am a very picky eater so that says a lot). The resort is very nice and the grounds are beautiful. Hope that helps.
Make sure to take lots of trips to downtown Playa, it is a great time and the food is wonderful. Try the Blue Lobster.

We just got back this AM I will post trip report later... We were first timers and we fell in love we will return again. I spent alot of time researching hotels and things to do. We stayed at the riu playacar and we absolutely l
loved the hotel and the food was very good. We were a little tired of it by end of week but hey what do you expect after 8 days. the hotel staff was
so friendly and always willing to help. The hotel was very clean. The beach was very clean. The pools were awesome. I also talked to a couple from
NYC and they were at the riu and had stayed at the Iberostar Tucan, they liked the Tucan a little better. But the riu is so very nice. I can tell you the the copacanbana, barcello maya, and xpu ha are very far away from Playa.
The Iberostars, Ruis, reef club, fishermans village(under const.), allegro,
viva maya are all a short walk or 40 pesos taxi ride. Hope this helps will post trip report later.... Remember bug spray...

You might try this.

Continental Plaza. Not an AI, but you can eat, and drink around town cheaper than what most of the AI's charge you. You get the diversity of what's in town, and a first class hotel for the same price of an AI. The hotels 2 eateries are fine also. An option you should look at. Have a great time!!!
