Riu Yucatan

We will be staying at the Riu Yucatan at the end of January(First time to Playa Del Carmen, in fact first time to Mexico, cannot wait!!). Has anyone had some good experiences here? Any info would be great.

We stayed at the Riu Yucatan about four years ago and loved it so mch we have gone to Riu resorts since then. Make sure you make reservations for the a la carte resturant at least once or twice over your week as it will break up the buffet runs...even though the buffets are very nice. Make sure you don't miss the coconut ice cream!!!

Thanks for the info, our plane leaves DFW early Thurs. morning (Jan. 24), so we should be at the pool or on the beach by that afternoon, I'm so excited, been married for over 3 years and finally getting my honeymoon!!

My wife and I are also going to the Riu Yucatan in late April. We're wondering if anyone has info on where the best place is to book a day trip snorkeling.
