where to stay ?

Hey everyone !
My name's Selena, 24, from texas and will be taking my second trip to playa with my cousin Erika, 27. The first time we went, we stayed at Riu Palace Mexico. Which was beauiful , and had an excellent stay. On this trip we wanted to go with something not to high end, non AI, and it doesnt have to be on the beach but we perfer it. We will be in playa June 13 to 20. If anyone has any suggestions please send post them here. We're getting really close to are departure date. I have our flights booked just not a place yet.... Thank you all in advance.

The La Rana is right in the middle of everything... close to the beach and the bar is GREAT!

If I ever get some time to sit back down on my arse. I will get our trip report done. It will speak glowingly about the Playa Maya. Steve has a very nice hotel. Right on the beach.
Here is a shot of it's location. It is next to the Al Hambra. If you look down the beach you can see the ferry dock.

So many great places and so little time. You can also check out some Vacation rental websites. We found Plantation House there. Got a good deal for 4 of us. The place had a full kitchen, not that we used it much, and it was one block from 5th Avenue and one block from the beach. Ideal.

Did you find the Plantation House to be spacious enough ?
I 've been looking at it for us and as you know photography is an art form these days.

There was plenty of room for 4 adults. You could also squeeze a couple of kids in if you wanted to. Joe, (the owner and just by chance, a Canadian) was a wonderful host.

Hi Selena...

Start right here at the Trip Planning tab. You'll find every type and price range of accommodations.

Additional information can be found easily by using the search function as explained by our beloved Babaloo.

You'll love staying in town - great late night nightlife for you young'uns and incredible food as well (check out the Changarros e Mas forum).

Have a ball!

Thank you guys so much for the info. We wanted to stay at the playa maya..... but there were no rooms available for us. So, we'll be staying at La Tortuga for the dates June 13 to the 20. Anyone goin to be there around this time? Maybe we can have a drink. Also wanted to ask.... about resturants.... i've gone through the resturant section in the directory... and they all seem great ! but which ones can i not leave playa with out trying out. Thanks for all your help guys !

Welcome to the forum!

Check out the Peep section of the forum to see if any meets are happening during your stay, or just be sure to get to LaRanita and the Beer Bucket during your stay.
