a question about SOUTHWEST AIRLINES

Beachnutt and I have booked a flight to Las Vegas on Southwest. This is the first time we have flown them. Someone told me that 24 hours before your flight, you can go online and get you A, B, or C coupon. However, I was just told that if you have paper tickets, you cannot do this and have to go directly to the airport 24 hours before if you want first choice. Can anyone help me on this?
