hola from calif bay area!
buenas tardes amigos!
coming to you from the sonoma county wine country, north of san francisco...
have been going to cabo for twenty years and figured it's about time to dip our toes in the carribean side. planning our first trip to the yacatan, hopefully end of july. playa del carmen is our choice, based on several recommendations from friends. we can hardly wait! have read some of the forum - terrrific info and insights, look forward to reading and contributing more. thanks in advance for all the great info i know we'll get from the forum!

Welcome! I grew up nearby in the Napa Valley, and was just there a couple weeks ago.

Hola!! We're from Sonoma Co. too!! Petaluma to be exact (well for a couple more weeks anyways!) Hope to see you in Playa in July, I like it much better than the west coast!!!

no way!
proof the world is really a small place...petaluma here too, eastside near srjc...when in july will you be there??? we're thinking the 28th, but haven't locked in yet - still deciding!

Well hell!!! We're on the eastside too, but down on the south end, off Baywood!! We'll still be there in July, we're moving there pretty soon here!!! We should get together for a drink... or two...

Loved Cabo... Hoping Playa is just as nice!
We went to Cabo last summer and fell in love with it! Spent two weeks down there and a lot of time daydreaming about buying a house and moving there.

We'll see how Playa compares. I think I'm going to love it. Loved the dry heat in Cabo, but the beaches in Playa are beautiful! Plus, looking forward to being able to walk everywhere. We spent too much time in Cabo in taxis...
