Hello to everyone! I've really enjoyed lurking while planning our trip to Playa and decided to finally post an introduction.

My husband and I are headed to Playa on July 4th. We'll be there for a week.

We're looking forward to escaping the heat of the Palm Springs area. Of course, we're just trading dry heat for humidity, but I'm actually hoping to get some rain while we're there.

My husband is Mexican, so he spends a lot of time on vacation chatting with the locals, finding out what it's like to live where they live, where they go to dinner, how much a house would cost if we wanted to move there... All pretty interesting stuff. It makes the taxi rides go by faster. Plus, he makes up stories about us. I think last year in Cabo he was telling everyone that we lived in Mexico City, and all I did was shop and spend his money. I'm looking forward to hearing where we live this year. I can understand Spanish, but don't speak it very well. So, I can understand when he's telling these outrageous stories, I just can't correct him!

Really looking forward to this trip. We went to Cancun in 2002, stayed at an AI and although my husband loved the buffet's, I hated them. So, now we avoid AIs, and enjoy eating at all the different restaurants. Plus, we really enjoy trying out different bars. I'm making lists of all the places in Playa we want to get to.

Can't wait!

We're staying at Xaman-Ha. Looking forward to trying the tacos at all of the little taco stands. Oh, and fresh orange juice. Oh, and lots and lots of tequila! And churros...

I'm getting hungry!
