Bottle of Wine, Fruit of the Vine

Ok we are on the last room to go thru in the "total house clean" Got to looking at the wine rack and went "Wow thats a lot of pretty good wine" . So the question is "How many bottles of wine do you have in your private (read that , at home) collection? We have 37 bottles in the wine closet. Everything from "two buck chuck" to some that set us back $50.
And you?

So, you've never seen our wine closet?? It's actually a refrigerated celler and holds 750 bottles. We also have 4, yes 4, climate controlled refrigerators in the garage. All are full. Prices range from about $14 to goodness knows. We kinda like our wine

Sounds great. If we had the space I am sure we would give our wine the respect it deserves, until then it is in the darkest, coolest place in the house. With the wife having worked in two of the wineries in our area we have had some very good stuff flo thru the stack. It's so nice to have a variety to choose from when friends stop by. Hope more people post on this as many seem to be wine drinkers. This fourom is such a good look at a widely varied slice of people.I always (mostly) enjoy what I read. Sounds like 37 bottles is a somewhat small collection.

I keep 12 bottles downstairs in my cellar in a climate controlled little refrigerator....the rest is here ...just a 5 minute walk away ......we are working on cutting down our selections from its current 220 to about 120 and to simplify our list to make it more approachable....its too hard maintaining excellence across this many selections...jamesblonde, your private collection sure sounds impressive!

How do you feel about adopting another family member, jamesblonde? Pretty much housebroken, rarely bite, and generally able to participate in adult conversation, but I'll admit I snore. Willing to re-locate.

We have just over 400 bottles in our cellar, ranging from about 100 or so of our homemade - which is pretty darned good, if I do say so myself - to some stuff we spent WAY too much for. Also have a zoned wine cooler with 35 bottles in it, and the "easy access" rack in the kitchen with another 16. Life is good!

We have a rack that holds 12 bottles (maybe 8) in the living room. It is big enough because we drink the swill we buy as soon as it gets in the front door.

We do own a corkscrew for when we go upscale

I'd love to take credit for it, but it's Kevin who's the wine guy. He's been collecting for about 7 years. Gets most of them, off winebid.com He gets some pretty good deals. I just drink it

If you cook and clean, you're adopted. I've got a spare bdrm, so the snoring won't bother me
