Riu Palace Rooms
Does anybody know if there is a real difference (besides the small upcharge) between a standard room and a superior room at the Riu Palace?
Also, I have read a few reviews saying that the beds are kind of uncomfortable....any comments? Thanks! |

Riu Palace
We've stayed in both a standard and a superior room...The only difference between the two was the location/view...
The standard rooms face the outside of the resort (the neighboring properties)... The superior rooms face the inside with a view of the fountains... The actual rooms were identical... Yes, the beds are quite firm but that's how we prefer it...We're returning in a couple of weeks for our 3rd stay...It's one of our favorite resorts!... |

Riu Palace rooms...
The standard room we had was on the north side, next to the Viva Maya...We were on the 3rd floor and our view was just lovely treetops and sky!...
Given a choice, ask for a room centrally located...I think that would avoid any noise from neigborhood entertainment...When we had a fountainview room, we would often sit out on our balcony having a cocktail and listening to the music from the RP's shows before we went to bed...But I never recall hearing anything once my head hit the pillow!!... |
