"bout time to say something
Finally took the time to register. I've been lurking for a year or so this time. We've been there 3 times ( last time in Jan 2007). After visiting most beach type resorts in Mexico, Bahamas, Hawaii we've decided PDC is the place. Just about to lock in Playa Maya for 10 nights in late Jan 2008.
Last trip we spent two nights in Tulum at end of trip at La Conchita, whch was really great. This time maybe a side trip to Akumul and Isla de Mujares. Can't wait...

Welcome! When were you there in January? We were there the 11 - 18th at Posada Freud & Fusion. Perhaps our paths crossed?
Isla Mujeres is a lot of fun - I think most folks who enjoy Playa would enjoy a day (or several) on IM as well. We stayed at Na Balam on IM a few years back and really enjoyed ourselves. Renting a golf cart and touring around the Island is a treat. Having the incredible grilled Tixin Chix for lunch at Playa Lancheros is a must, as is snorkeling at Garaffon (Hotel or private beach club, take your pick). Finishing off your day with cocktails and wonderful sunsets at Sergio's Playa Sol is an IM tradition. Nighttime strolling on Hildago is like a scaled-down verison of 5th in Playa. Have fun, wherever you go!!

thanks fo the welcome (s)
We stayed at the Playa Maya Jan 24-29 and La Conchita Jan 30-31. We really liked Playa Maya because of location, breakfast and beach scene. We met some nice people there who stay there every year.
We also did the Fat Cat, but had a hiccup as the engines wouldn't re-start once we were at the snorkeling spot. Lot of people were concerned but I was thinking ... stuck on a nice boat with plenty to drink |
