Ah yes. Skunks in the Hav-a-Hart. Know all about that. Needed to remove the trap from the barn. never got sprayed though.

The hose is running, pumping from my irrigation pump at the back of my property so I can let run all I want. My house is actually on well water so there are restrictions, but I would'nt want run my house well for this.

Wasn't the rodent in Caddyshack supposed to be a gopher, not a woodchuck?

We have had a bit of a gopher invasion here in Saskatchewan...

Gopher invasion hurting Prairie farmers - Yahoo! Canada News

People are actually coming here just to go out and shoot them by the hundreds.

The same question was asked by the Wa. Dept. Of Fish & wildlife a few years back when they had a problem with a rascally sealion named "Hershal" eating the remnants of a very distressed salmon/steelhead population at one of the dams here.
10-12 years & several million $$ later they still have the problem, plus he has now invited a hundred or so of his friends to dinner & the fish are still suffering the consequences.
Too bad they didn't heed the advise of the folks in the know & spent the $ 10 for a box of 270, 30-06 or 300 mag. shells; fast, effective, & perminent. (of course a Pellet gun or.22 would solve your probelm)
Problem solved

Well I want you to have the right answer as well. The shed is a ways away from everything and I thinking that maybe the water collapsed the tunnel and that will be that.

You may have solved your problem by creating a problem for your neighbor. The gopher has not just dissapeared, it has probably moved next door to a more desirable more rodent friendly place (or so he thinks).
Now the neighbor will have to shoot it. Problem solved---at last
