Hello. New to this site. We'll be staying @ the Royal Playa del Carmen July 27th. Anyone else? I have heard this is the rainy season. Is this true?

As for your weather inquiry, might I suggest you try the "Read More" pull down tab at the top of the page. Plenty of dandy information there about a variety of common subjects - like the climate. As far as July goes, in a word....hot! If you do get some rain, you'll most likely consider it a blessing, rather than a curse.

Yes ... this is the "rainy season". It is not like the rainy season here in the states where it rains for 3 or 4 days in a row. While it is more likely that you will get some rain, the days are still mostly sunny and very hot. When you do get a downpour, it will most likely be short lived ... and very welcomed!

It is the Kansas sized beach tornadoes that you have to watch out for!
