Transportation from PDC to Puerto Juarez?

We're searching for the best (read: cheapest and fastest) way to get to Puerto Juarez (to take the ferry to Isla Mujeres) from PDC. I can't seem to find information on this. We were thinking of taking the bus, but a website that I found didn't list Puerto Juarez as a stop from PDC. Should we just take a taxi (there are only 2 of us) or would it be too expensive? Any advice or recommendations? Thank you for your help!

pdc to puerto juarez

the cheapest way would be bus to cancun and then taxi to puerto juarez
there are buses to pto J, but few and far between and its a long long walk
(I know i did it). if you could figure out when the bus left the cancun terminal you could time it and take the 2 buses.
fastest would be taxi all the way, but i bet it would be pricey.

Been there, done that a couple times. Take the bus to Cancun. It will drop you off at the bus station. The Riviera bus makes fewer stops so its quicker. There are numerous taxis at the bus depot that will take you to Puerto Juarez. There will also be several taxis waiting at the ferry dock at Puerto Juarez to take you back to the bus depot for your return trip. Taking a taxi the from PDC to Puerto Juarez will be very expensive, especially if there are only two of you. Enjoy! Isla Mujeres is great.

Thanks to both of you for your help! We'll definitely give the bus/taxi tandem a try.

Just to add to that The Bus from Playa to Cancun leaves every 15 minutes, and the ticket terminal for Cancun is by it's self on the left side of the terminal as you enter the bus loading area, not where the regular ticket sales are. Tickets are 32 pesos (64 for two). At the Cancun bus terminal you can catch a R13 bus to Punta Sam for 4 pesos or a taxi for 20-30 pesos for two. Ferry leaves every half hour Ferry to Isla is 37 pesos.

Bus trip 45-60 minutes, taxi ride 10-15 minutes, ferry 20 minutes, you will be there in less than 2 hours for a grand total of 168 pesos for two.

Cab will take you about the same amount of time and will be more, but check and see what they will do it for from Playa. I am guessing 300 or more.
