Having gotten more details I've decided to sit back and wait for the report.
Come to think on it it is my last full day and I might be sorry to miss the beach time. Have a great time! |

just read this report. thank you all for the wonderful words you have said about me and your excitement about my birthday party. i can't think of a place i had rather be to celebrate my 4-0 then in Playa with all of you great people!!!
since i will be traveling with two of my best girl friends (not very food adventureous), i will have to set the afternoon food testing out. i'll be at Kool beach club on one of those big beds during the day on Saturday. then, i will see y'all at the Tequila Barrel around 8:30. i'm ready to dance and party!!! I have decided to wimp out on the taco tour. It's my roomie Sharon's last day in town and I am going to hang-out with her all day long. Knowing her, it will be under the shade, in front of the beach and consuming some cervezas bien frias. (ice cold beers)

You cannot go without me!
Wait! Wait! Wait!
This is the first I heard of this great idea! When are you planning on this trip? If you know the dates, or when you find out the dates, let me know and I will try my best to be there. I will eat anything but offal. I have to draw the line somewhere. |

Jesus and I will do our level best to bring the experience directly to you, the loyal playa.info foodie! If I can remember, I'm also going to try to set up to get video as well. If I can get it done, you will have food reports, with pictures, and I will upload video to youtube and put a link in the reports. Pretty cool, eh? ![]() |

I'm proud to say I've eaten both of them, and lived to tell about it! ![]() As part of a scavenger hunt in Oaxaca, the kids had to find and purchase a bag of chapulines (fried grasshoppers). When the first group returned to the hotel and presented their bag, I dug in and put a small handfull in my mouth and ate them. I thought a couple of the girls were going to pass out! ![]() I didn't really care for the huitlacoche, tho...something about the color...it was a little to "dark" for my taste! I wish we could join you for your "tour" but we'll be searching out our own little authentic places before you do! Don't think I'll try any udders, brains, or the like, tho! I'm more of a mole gal. ![]() |

I like huitlacoche in quesadillas made with blue corn tortillas then I don't notice the color. ![]() ![]() ![]() It taste good if the cook includes a few corn kernels in the quesadilla.Something, that I enjoy very much are squash blossoms or flor de calabaza. These are soooo good. |
