I hadn't read the post by "couple" until your silly feedback prompted me to have a look. I've been pretty busy working on new stuff for this site (including a real estate / rental posting system, as I mentioned to you when you asked about posting your sublet, which I appreciated, by the way. More on that below.) and I've not been as avid a forum moderator in the last few days as usual.
I'm all ears to hear what others have to say about posts like the one by "couple." To me, they are completely inoffensive and I doubt we'll be deluged by other similar swinger posts. We have had another similar post recently by a spring breaker looking for action. It ended being quite a laugh, and prompted Al From NY's "women 80 and under post."
Let's face it, forums are about interaction, and everyone draws the line differently when it comes to where they'll stop, eh, interacting. We try to keep things generally clean but have no written policy to date regarding posts about "hooking up." It hasn't been a problem as far as I'm concerned, mostly.
On to Goods and Services. Just today we had to ban someone for posting garbage about cheap online cigarette sales. Several times a week I have to nuke crap that spammers and other irritating salespeople decide to offer our visitors. Were we not to control unsolicited commerce, we'd be wading through crapola.
"But my sublet isn't spam, I'm just an individual, I don't mean to bother anyone, and I just want to ..." I agree with you, but our forum isn't the place to post sublets. For this reason, among others, I'm adding a real estate / short-long term rental system to the site. It will be fee-based (very-reasonable) to keep out the spammers, and to help us keep the doors open, so to speak.
I appreciate the feedback.
