Hitting children and using profane language towards them will raise monsters. IMHO.

There's a whole lot of nice, appropriate, decent middle ground between letting your kids run riot and hitting them.

Beating up small kids is never good ( my mom gave us quite a few slaps and I don't consider myself a sociopath though ). Beating up kinds AND insulting them is the lowest point a parent could go to. I agree that is some occasions its good to "slap" your kids, but not THROW THEM ON THE FLOOR AND BEAT THEM UP AND SHOUT AT THEM. This is ridiculous, it IS child abuse.

Funny, how some people can see a slap on the hand as a beating. I wasn't there and did not see it, so I won't judge. I have heard to many fish stories over the years.

You're right, Rita. We weren't there. Maybe it was just a slap on the hand. I do also have a problem with a parent using profane language around a 2 and 4 year old.
