My own order would be:

Shared tastes & interests
Sharing household chores
Faithfulness
Happy sexual relationship

Adequate income
Agreement on politics
Shared religious beliefs (these last two are pretty much the same)

Good housing
Children ('cause we don't have any, but maybe that should be higher because we agreed on that )

For people in general my remaining guesses would be, in order:

Children
Adequate income
Shared household chores
Shared tastes and interests
Good housing
Shared religious belief
Agreement on politics

Riss--you rank him helping scrub toilets as higher than him cheating on you?

And I thought the decision to have or not have children was part of the "children" question... as well as how to raise them once you get them...

Well, it's (children) just a non-issue now, so that is why I ranked it low, you know? it's never thought of or talked about so I wouldn't rank it any higher.
Same with the faithfulness...it's a non-issue, whereas I really appreciate on a regular basis when he mows the lawn, takes out the garbage and makes supper, etc. you know what I mean? So, in our day to day lives, for sure that ranks higher.....'course, if one of us cheated had cheated, or it was a concern, faithfulness might rank higher for me....I guess maybe I did that wrong.

interesting... a "non-issue"... so does that mean it was so important to you that you you made sure you chose someone that you knew would NEVER have that as an issue to deal with, thus making it a non-issue? or that you don't really care if either of you cheats, so whatever, whatever, non-issue? if it's the former, then perhaps your ranking is wrong...

"wrong" being a non-inflammatory word in this case... please...

I agree that children one is too vague. I've seen cases where not being able to have them, for example, seemed to be a prime cause of a marriage ending in divorce, even though it otherwise seemed healthy. The item is so vague it could refer to anything from differences in disciplining them to how many to have to whether they help hold a marriage together that might otherwise break apart...

Anyways, though, I'll spill the beans: the remaining 7 items, according to the survey, appear in precisely the order I originally posted them. (Now aren't I clever? )

Here's the graphic from the article:

The article itself, inane title and all, is Modern Marriage: "I Like Hugs. I Like Kisses. But What I Really Love is Help with the Dishes." As that indicates, they're making a lot of hay out of help with the chores coming in so highly ranked. Certainly surprised me, though that my just underscore my particular chromosomal makeup!

See what you think...

? Children (What does this mean? Having children? Agreeing on children? Acting like children?)

Sorry, no (I DID do it wrong I guess ), I meant it hasn't been a concern (yet *crossing fingers ) so it seems like a non-issue? I guess it should be ranked higher, because yes faithfulness is very important to both of us.
It's just that I guess we take it for granted so ...yeah I just did it wrong.

like cyndi I found the children one confusing too.
