The pics on this thread are great, and Tommy I have always loved your pics, what kind of camera do you have is it an slr, digital, and are you a professional photographer? I want a new camera, and have no idea what to get. I do know I want a SLR one, any advise?

Being a person who likes Canon and one who has to approve camera purchases, here is what I would recommend:
If you want an SLR, a nice model is the digital Rebel. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of a professional SLR but it does have a lot of options that you don't get with a point and shoot. You can get one for around $500, depending on what you want to get with it. If you want a decent point and shoot, I highly recommend the Canon S3 IS. This looks like an adolescent SLR (not full-sized SLR). It is not an SLR, however. The camera has a great optical zoom and takes great video (particularly for posting on the Web). The S3 IS also has "image stabilization," which is great after a night of Playa craziness at places like the Tequila Barrel. |
