Here is my take on the Chelada style beer...no freaking way!!! It absolutely has to be made with Mexican beer. It is like making a torta with Best Foods or Hellmann's instead of cheapo McCormick...it's like Taco Bell... like Del Taco's carne asada tacos or tacos al carbon. Nope.... no can do.

Beer for hot summer days

Haven't tried the Chill yet, but saw several ads for it. Gonna give it a whirl this weekend.

My new favorite "summer beer" is from Leinenkugels over in Wisconsin. Their seasonal beers are always the best in the beer fridge, but I think they've outdone themselves with the Summer Shandy this year. A wheat beer with dashes of lemonade and honey... Can't have more than a couple without gut rot setting in, but I've never had a more refreshing beer when it's 85 and Minnesota humid. Check it out if you can! Their Sunset Wheat ain't too shabby either

We are such Minnesotans - I know quite a few people, including myself, who love Leinnie's Shandy.
I tried Chill a couple of weeks ago. It's okay - tastes just like a Miller light to me. Glad I only bought a six pack.

This new Miller product is the equivalent to canned tamales. The lime in it is not fresh.

Or any brand of light beer....and throw in some lemonade or lime juice, voila, a shandy...or better yet, some Mott's Clamato juice.

They used to sell something called 'Twist Shandy' up here, man...almost 20 years ago now? It was basically beer with lemonade but UGH it was terrible stuff compared to making it yourself.

Nothing beats a freshly made michelada... except maybe a michelada cubana.

We have a lot of Sierra Nevada beer and they make quite abit of seasonal beers also. Of course their pale ale is great but they make a pretty good summerfest. good on those hot summer days. gotta love sierra nevada.

When I venture to the dark side I enjoy Sierra Nevada. Also, the maker of Fat Tire have a nice summer beer called Skinny Dip.

Nah....you must not apologize. You like guacamole chips and I said they are nasty.
The dark side can be a lot of fun.
