I thought they were pretty good, but prefer Modelo with an actual lime. Can't figure out how they infused that faint salty aftertaste?
Wonder if "chelada" style was inspired by Micheladas, which had for the first time in Playa and loved? |

Lookkee here, I don't much like light American beer of any kind. Standard brewed USA beer generally suck, but
I was at a blues festival the 4th of July, it was hot, the new Miller lite with lime and stuff tasted great. No, wait a minute, it was less filling. There is a reason those light-colored, standard USA beers are called lawn mower beer. They go down good when the air is hot and the beer is cold. The limey flavored Miller was A-OK in the heat!!! |

Big corporations don't know how to relax on a beach and sip a good drink,,,,they just know how to make profits. So they learn about a finely crafted beverage and try to bottle it, and fail. Its like those bottled mojitos,,,,,they just don't get it. You can't bottle warm summer days and drinking with friends, so don't try. Its like canned asparagus,,,,,yuck.

Here is my take on the Chelada style beer...no freaking way!!! It absolutely has to be made with Mexican beer. It is like making a torta with Best Foods or Hellmann's instead of cheapo McCormick...it's like Taco Bell... like Del Taco's carne asada tacos or tacos al carbon. Nope.... no can do. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
