Yellow Jersey kicked out of Tour de France

UN-friggin'-believable! ![]() I'm not saying a wrong decision has been made, but I cannot fathom why any sportsman would take the risks that are being taken. Selfish s.o.b.'s are taking dope despite the risk getting caught and, far worse, despite the consequences not only for themselves but also for "clean" fellow cyclists...

It's so disheartening. The Tour is one of the best sporting events anywhere. But it, like so many other events, (and cycling, like so many other sports) is being ruined by the "win at any cost" attitude.
![]() ![]() Has pro cycling reached the point where you've got to be doping to be among the elite? Or do we think there's anyone left in contention who might win fairly and cleanly. ![]() ![]() ![]()

What do these people think they're doing? It's just horrible. And I guess it sounds naive, but I am so disheartened that this -- what I would call American attitude, at all costs -- is infiltrating European sports.
I am dying to see what kind of inner physical condition all these "enhanced" athletes will be in in a decade or so. Last edited by MWC; 07-25-2007 at 06:46 PM. |

Need we be reminded of Katrina Witt and other East German female athletes during the Cold War era?? |

Well- anyone who watches sports these days with a close focus will most likely agree that probably most of the athletes are doped in one or the other way.........I guess there is a point in every sport that can't be beaten without doing it.
Question is what to do? Like this it's unfair to those who don't dope and no fun....... Making doping legal is neither going to be good as those who don't want to do it (rightfully so) will slide off the radar and the others will harm their health. Why not really open two categories for any sport: one without doping, and one with allowed doping? Those who want to ruin their health can go for it then without belitteling the achievements of others.

The Tour scandal made the front page of today's NY Times.
I feel somewhat vindicated that Barry Bonds seems to be falling into a pattern of having to take one or two games off for every game he plays. Joints can't take the extra weight for long, dumb-f*ck? Ha! |
