Jets RB Curtis Martin makes his retirement official after sitting out the entire season last year due to injury in the '05 season.

Talk about a guy who sets the bar very high for the NFL, on and off the field. He follows only Emmit Smith, Walter Payton and Barry Sanders in yards rushing, and yet there are many football fans out there that didn't even have him on their radar.

He'll definitely be rewarded for his career.

Count me as one who didn't even know who he was. And I consider myself a football freak. Anyway, congrats to him for a great career
