Laziness or taking a break?

So during the week I am on the run all the time, work is nuts, right now I have a ton of appointments leading up to my surgery and just have a lot going on. I just moved, date boy is coming for a visit and I cannot get motivated to get the rest of my stuff unpacked.
My house is in working order, I can cook and all that, but my walls are still empty and my office is half filled with stuff and filled tubs decor and misc. junk. I sit here on the computer chatting with you guys or watching TV instead of working on that. Yesterday I did do some reorganizing, but didn't finish it. My walls are plaster so it's not going to be easy to hang stuff on the walls, Dad gave me a suggestion on the best way to do it, but I'd have to go to the store to buy the stuff.

My house is clean, I exercise, I work my butt off at work, I get done what I have to get done in my life so why can't I get motivated to get this done? Anyone else have things like this in your life? Do you procrastinate until you have to get it done? It's not that I don't want to do it, I want my house to look nice, I just lack motivation right now and I'm not sure why.

Sometimes being up against a deadline is a good motivator.

That's what I'm thinking, he'll be here on the 24th, so I'll have to get it done by then.

I took my time unpacking.... I just wanted to make sure of what I wanted where and had other priorities at the time. Don't worry about it.

I agree with Rita. Take your time, and you can unpack more thoughtfully -- there may be a lot of stuff you can live without, so you can just pitch that!

You sound like you're doing fine.

My best motivator is having company. Then I do the heavy cleaning. Otherwise, I always find a reason not to do it! You've got plenty of time to unpack your stuff, at your own pace. And I'm sure "date boy" will understand!

Some times a break is good! You have been working on this for so long now no wonder youre worn out with it. Take a short break dont focus on it and when you get back to it youll have a renewed excitement!

I do so much better under pressure and a time restriction. Right now I should be at home doing laundry but I'm at a cafe having a mimosa, lunch and catching up on the forum
